Turkey-Syria Earthquake
A massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Southern Turkey early morning on February 6th. Several earthquakes have occurred since then. Thousands are expected to have lost their lives, with countless more injured. Entire buildings collapsed and flattened, leaving hundreds of thousands displaced outside in the snow and cold. This is the most powerful earthquake to hit Turkey since 1939. Because of GEM Europe’s propositioning for European disasters, our team was able to deploy immediately the same morning. Teams will be on the ground the same day, offering assistance and supplies.

Un terremoto masivo de magnitud 7,8 sacudió el sur de Turquía la madrugada del 6 de febrero. Varios terremotos han ocurrido desde entonces. Se espera que miles hayan perdido la vida, con innumerables más heridos. Edificios enteros se derrumbaron y aplastaron, dejando a cientos de miles de personas desplazadas afuera en la nieve y el frío. Este es el terremoto más poderoso que golpea a Turquía desde 1939.
